Meet Willow !

Please allow us to introduce Willow - our 4th Guide Dog Puppy!

Willow is said to be a smashing little 12 week old puppy. She is lively, eager to learn and full of fun. She has settled in very well with her puppy walker and is already house trained, which is very fast work indeed. In fact, she even responds to the request 'busy' which is super for such a young pup. Willow is a quick little learner and has already picked up a few basic commands such as 'sit' and 'wait' which she has to do before she gets her tea. This has been a challenge for Willow as she loves her food!

Willow has been sleeping through the night since she arrived and her puppy walker, Hilary, tells us that she is no real bother. As Willow has only just had all of her vaccinations she has not been about to get out and about on her own four paws yet but has instead been carried by Hilary. The pair have been on a few outings including a trip to the local supermarket. Willow has been fine with all the different sights and sounds that she has encountered so far and appears to be quite a confident little lady. She has also been on short journeys in the car and settles well, showing no signs of sickness or anxiety. Once she is able to get under her own steam, Hilary is hoping to introduce her to the bus and doesn't foresee any problems.

Hilary has introduced Willow's collar and lead too and Willow seems OK with this. They have only been around the house and on the drive and although she isn't keen to walk at first, once she gets going she is off!

When she is not training, Willow loves to play with her big box of toys and although she has no particular favourite, she does have a big teddy that she really likes.

Willow has made a lovely start to her training and we hope that she can continue to do as well in the coming months. We look forward to keeping you updated on her progress.
