Two of the largest independent suppliers to the eyecare sector in the UK have now become sister companies.

Altomed and Mid-Optic, founded respectively in 1976 and 1979, have grown to become leading suppliers to the surgical ophthalmology and optician / optometry markets in the UK.

Together the two companies are trusted to supply more than four thousand NHS and independent hospitals, opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists and with more than a million products each year.

Across both companies, the product range extends to over 4,500 product lines with most available for next day UK delivery.

Now working together, the companies will seek to bring more even choice to their customers. The extensive range of products includes surgical instruments and devices, single use products, prescription and non-prescription eye drops (including Minims*) and surgical, clinic and practice consumables.
