Mid-Optic helps Crisis at Christmas again
Crisis at Christmas
Mid-Optic are once again supporting Crisis at Christmas with a donation of optical products and ophthalmic drops, vital in the sight testing of the homeless people this worthy charity continues to help.
Every year, vital help from donors enables Crisis at Christmas to bring warmth, companionship and essential services to over 4,000 homeless people across the UK. More than 1 in 3 people sleeping on the streets have been deliberately hit or kicked or experienced some other form of violence whilst homeless.
For eight days this Christmas, Crisis will once again set up centres across the UK where more than 10,000 volunteers will prepare over 38,000 meals, including a full Christmas dinner.
They will provide healthcare consultations and specialist advice on housing and getting back into work, plus links to their year-round services. It’s half a century since Crisis was founded as an urgent response to an unacceptable situation. They didn’t expect to be here, facing a similar crisis, 50 years on. Together with your help, a real difference can be made this Christmas for the many thousands of people who have no home.
“Crisis at Christmas simply would not be possible without the generosity of our supporters – our devoted fundraisers, donors, volunteers, campaigners and partners. We would like to thank Mid-Optic Ltd for their donation of optical items, which helps us provide a lifeline for homeless people this Christmas and a chance to take their first steps out of homelessness” said Ian Richards, Head of Crisis at Christmas.
Mid-Optic would like to add that they are donating to this and other charities instead of sending Christmas cards this year.
