Finley is now just over 10 months old and we recently caught up with his puppy trainer, Sue, to find out how he’s getting on. Sue tells us that Finley has matured into a loveable character who is doing very well with his training.

Having mastered all the basic commands and established his spending routine, Finley is now working on his pace when on the lead. He needs to walk forward a bit more and walk in the correct guiding position – slightly ahead, to the left and with a light tension on the lead. Sue takes him on a set route for his morning walk and a new route in the afternoon so that Finley can work on this skill. Otherwise Finley is taking his training in his stride and his Puppy Training Supervisor is happy with his progress. He is always eager to please and wears his puppy jacket with pride.

When left alone Finley is very well behaved, though he is always pleased to see Sue when she returns. As long as he has his rawhide and peanut butter bone, he is happy. He is an amicable chap who mixes well with people and other animals alike.

Like all puppies, Finley still has his cheeky and entertaining side. He likes watching wildlife programmes on TV and anything with horses in, is particularly entertaining to him. Sue also tells us that Finley made her laugh recently when he woke her up wearing a black plastic tray over his face bearing a strong resemblance to Darth Vader!

We are pleased to hear that Finley is doing well and hope you have enjoyed reading about his progress over the past 10 months. We look forward to celebrating his birthday with you soon.
